Richard was professional. He did a great job teaching us at our level and we appreciated his excellent English. His skiing instruction was helpful in teaching the mechanics of cross country. He’s really patient with first timers like me with subpar downhill skiing skills! I learnt a lot and gained a lot of confidence from our three lessons together. He’s quite cautious and will not push you to do stuff you’re not ready for. Most importantly for me, he’s a really friendly and warm person so it’s easy to spend some (slow) gliding time with him! Would definitely recommend him for lessons or guiding. Chamonix has a Large area perfect for beginners- ski hire right next to the ski du fond area. Nordic hut a great place for picnic and WC. The exercises made a lot of sense, and after an hour as a beginner we could already feel some progress. I had two, two hour lessons with him and I was a complete beginner when I started. I felt that I learnt a lot, enjoyed my lessons and the time flew by! He was great with me, very patient and kind. I’ll definately book another lesson with him next year if I’m lucky enough to come back. I can highly recommend.
